Victoria Charlton - Principal
Qualified I.S.T.D Dance Teacher & Matron
Trained at Merseyside Dance and Drama School from a young age and as a child performed with several ballet companies, such as the Lewis London Ballet Company and Ballet Creations.
She has been trained in all aspects of dance taking them to Advanced Levels and reached Supreme Award Level in Ballroom and Latin American.
After graduating with a Performing Arts Degree and achieving her teaching Associates in I.S.T.D with distinction, she spent two years performing in top hotels in Tenerife and Majorca, where she was head girl and choreographer. She has performed in pantomimes, on TV (Liverpool Echo Awards), has travelled the world performing to international audiences as part of the entertainments team on board the M.S Braemar cruise liner for Fred Olsen Cruise Liners.
Vikky has an extensive amount of teaching experience under her belt spanning over the last 15 years. She has previously taught at LIPA, Glenda Hill Theatre Works and other schools in and around the North West.
When not teaching dance, Vikky is also a Teaching Assistant at Orrets Meadow Primary School for children with specific learning difficulties.
Kim McDonald - Principal
Dance Teacher & Matron
Trained at Belmont School of Dance from the age of 3, then at the age of 16 went on to train full time at Liverpool Theatre School and College. Kim graduated with a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre (Trinity) BTEC: Dance, Drama & Singing, OCR, Art Development, Diploma in Variety Entertainment. Major Examinations in, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Theatre Craft, Ballroom, Cheerleading and Intermediate Levels in Stage Combat.
Most recently Kim has danced for Strike Productions as part of the International Netball series for sky Sports. In November 08 Kim danced for the well known band "The Wombats" at the Liverpool Echo Arena, as part of their world tour. Some of her other work includes contracts for Mirage, on Fred Olsen Cruise Liners, Dynamic Dancers, Moulin Rouge Show, Kayad Productions "The fabulous Las Vegas show" which tours around numerous theatres throughout the UK.
Kim spent time performing as a dancer at Oasis Centre Parks. She then spent 6 months as a Dancer with Explosive Productions. Kim has also worked for Juice FM school tour for Louis Hurst. Theatre credits include: Ensemble in Showcase 2004 (Criterion Theatre London), Dancer in the pantomime Jack & The Beanstalk (Floral Pavilion), Ensemble in 42nd Street (Liverpool Empire), Ensemble in The King and I (Liverpool Empire), Ensemble in Is There Life After High School (Parklands Theatre), Ensemble in Daughters of Venice (Parklands Theatre).
Kim has performed on stage with the likes of Claire Sweeney, Ken Dodd and Sam Kane.
Joanne trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama specialising in vocal studies.
After winning the Welsh Musical Theatre Singer of the Year competition, Joanne went on to work with the BBC National performing with internationally acclaimed conductors and orchestras across the UK.
Joannes performances have also been broadcast on BBC Three Radio and S4C Television. Joanne has appeared in many roles including Oliver (Nancy), 42nd Street (Chorus Girl), La Vie Parisienne (Gabrielle), Pirates of Penzance (Edith), The Marriage of Figaro (Suzanna), Iolanthe (Phyllis) and Seven (Leading Soloist).
Most recently, Joanne supported Sir Paul McCartney on his On The Run tour with performances at the M.E.N and ECHO Arenas.
Other notable venues that Joanne has performed in include the Royal Albert hall, Liverpool Empire Theatre, St Davids Concert Hall and Londons West End.
Joannes voice can also be heard on several cd recordings including Florences Schmitt with the BBC National Orchestra.
Nicola started her dance training at the age of 15 having no previous dance experience. She attended Liverpool Community College gaining her National Certificates and Diploma and trained mainly in Contemporary (Laban and Humphrey technique).
After gaining a place in both Northern Ballet and Northern Contemporary, she decided to take some time out due to family commitments.
She has now connected back with dance and is currently in her final year at Liverpool John Moores University, studying Dance Practices, focusing on teaching.
Nicola is very passionate about dance and is focused to become an important role in the next generation of dancers.
She is currently teaching in schools and dance centres across Liverpool and Wirral and has worked alongside Merseyside Dance Initiative (MDI) spreading dance projects through the North West.
Sara started dancing at the age of 2 and a half and trained at Merseyside Dance & Drama Centre. After leaving college she danced for Radio City Road Shows which took her touring around the Uk, with famous singers such as Peter Andre, Ant & Dec and China Black.
She then moved on to dance for a company in Manchester and worked in London in many festivals. She taught dance part time in between tours but now teaching is now her passion.
Sara specializes in teaching toddlers aged 1-3 years and developing their movement and co ordination skills, this also helps to build their confidence. Sara teaches our Twinkle Toes classes at Complete Works and we love having Sara as part of our team starting our tiniest students off on the right foot.
